Putting aside the idea that everyone can read the code and find/fix exploits, sometimes it's good to be open to vulnerabilities because you know where/what to fix.

Sometimes closed code it's exploited for years before the owner or general public finds out, and that leads to more problems.

    peyotecosmico ,

Godspeed you magnificent beast, you'll be missed but I'm glad you are taking care of yourself. I'll see you when you upload ocasional videos.

    peyotecosmico ,

I've had two trees in my whole life, both plastic, at this rate maybe I'll have 3 in my total life. I still don't get why people cut live ones, you hurt the tree, it probably will make a mess while drying, and you'll end up trashing it at the end of the season.

Yes the smell must be nice but there are options now for that scent...

    peyotecosmico ,

I think this is the best option from both worlds

    peyotecosmico ,

Hahaha love this thread, I hope it becomes meta

    peyotecosmico ,

I’ve been there and you know what’s worse about it? When you fix it only you or a handful of people notice the astronomical labor you did.

“It worked before why did you change it? You are just doing busywork”

    peyotecosmico ,

    Us: hahaha silly dog.

Also us: oh a waterfall, I’ll check behind it.

Time to start using GitDirectory named V.01 shared over FTP.

    It’s a joke, don’t use FTP, it’s not secure.

    peyotecosmico ,

Of FTP not being secure? Check the links in the comments below

    FTP it’s not encrypted

    peyotecosmico ,

There’s no GitDirectory, it’s the way we used to share files back then, a shared directory over FTP

    peyotecosmico ,

This is why I switched from Slackware, it could run in a toaster but by the time I had setup a 5 button mouse others were already doing things.

    It’s great for learning tho.

    peyotecosmico ,

That means I could buy elron_has_a_small_peepee now?

Linus Tech Tips pauses production as controversy swirls - The Verge ( www.theverge.com )

Last night, at approximately 2AM ET, a former employee, Madison Reeve, posted a thread on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, accusing Linus Media Group of cultivating a toxic work environment and encouraging a work culture that was detrimental to her health as well as sexual harassment directed at her by Linus Media...

$250–$499… Good thing there are 4 and a ½ months to donate more since they made the backbone of their systems.

    I’m sure they will. /s

    peyotecosmico ,

    this might help you.

I remember there was another where you put your opinions (agree, don’t care, disagree) about those bullet points and it throws you a list of instances but I didn’t save it sorry.

A small part of me (not fully) thinks that COVID was a biological weapon that got out of hand from some pseudo dictator, there’s too many of them and they aren’t that bright/care to measure the consequences.

How to prevent keyboard and mouse fingerprinting in web browsers

If websites are able to track their users’ typing behavior and mouse movements, then the websites may be able to use that data to fingerprint, track, and possibly identify their users. Is this a real privacy risk? If so, what are the methods to counter keyboard and mouse fingerprinting by websites? Note that I do not want to...

There’s a hidden option in Firefox’s about:config if you Google fingerprint Firefox you’ll find it.

I tried to turn it on but almost every site worked like it didn’t save cookies and asked for captchas.

It became very annoying so I turned it off and just installed another browser for those kind of searches that you don’t want to be tracked like Amazon… Totally not pron, I wouldn’t do that.

    peyotecosmico ,

Just by the title we know that you are that kind of crazy.

Have you tried twitter? I’ve heard it’s great for people like you right now.

    peyotecosmico ,

What some people don’t realize it’s that those usernames besides from being unique are very valuable, at the point that when someone won’t sell it they get harassed until they do
