I made my special airplane drink (Bailey’s & vodka on ice) with the Mint Chocolate Bailey’s and it was lovely. It doesn’t seem to be very minty or chocolatey though… very similar to regular Bailey’s.
Oh damn… I just looked into what this is and listened to some of the groups in the lineup and that seems like a good vibe. I might keep a note of this one. Sorry to hear it’s cancelled :(
For sure some road markings are pure guesswork in the rain, especially at night!
And as someone who used a phone holder for years and recently got Android Auto… so much better. Although I had pretty good phone holders so I didn’t hate it that much.
The 2nd night of motocross is on tonight at the stadium so there are middle aged dudes wearing camouflage all over the place. I can see you, idiots.
Ok so just before I hit Post I looked down and I’m 40 and wearing camo shorts. God damn it. That’d be why the guy at the shop asked me if I’m in town for the motocross! I meant guys wearing a lot more camo than this! Argh I’m a hypocrite!
I bought one of these Glasshouse Gingerbread House double wick candles as a trial to see if they’d be good to give out as Christmas presents. Burning it now and it’s lovely! So I’ve bought 4 more.
Sitting at breakfast overlooking the golf course just enjoying watching the old blokes walking around and their golf buggies following them by themselves like golf themed droids from Star Wars. The future is hilarious.
I’ve driven myself up to Moama for a couple of nights to get out of the city and get some of that sweet sweet Murray River 30 degree sunshine. Got a free room upgrade at the Golf resort and it’s quite lovely! Took today off but I’ll work from here tomorrow.
Multiple people attempted to crash into my car between home and here which I didn’t love. Seems the dashcam I ordered can’t come fast enough! Did get some quality drive time to listen to my audiobook though.
Aaaand I’ve won enough money to fully fund this little mini-break and take home a bit of profit. Gonna relax like a mofo. Listen to my audiobook in the garden. That sorta stuff.
I don’t know exactly where it came from, I think someone may have said it came from reality TV, but something about the phrase “I love that for you” just hits me the wrong way. I understand the meaning and the sentiment, but it just hits my ear as condescending or with a hint of snark.
Just got a text 5 minutes ago from my real estate agency saying I have a routine inspection today between 10-5:30pm and asks if I’ll be home. It was sent in short code format so I can’t reply, there’s no phone number included, it’s the first I’m hearing about an inspection and it’s from a name who isn’t listed on the real estate “our team” site. It’s legit though.
Called the guy who I think is my property manager (last one who emailed me, in October, about January’s price increase) and he said the guy is new, suggested maybe it was my fault that I may have missed a message (I didn’t) and asked if it was ok if they come today.
MICM doesn’t quite have the customer service they used to. I don’t love this for me.
Honestly I doubt it’d be much of an inconvenience for the guy. He probably has a few to do in this building today. I’m home and I have my shit together now and keep on top of maintaining a clean apartment so unexpected visitors don’t require me to freak out and whirlwind clean like a maniac so I just said sure, whatever, but wanted to make a note that they didn’t give me notice. They don’t care.
Last inspection I kicked up a huge stink because they wanted to come in while I was away and I don’t want strangers in my apartment without me there. Made the reschedule 3 times I think. Last year they used text and that works fine/possibly best for me. They’ve used email too but it seems to change as employees come and go over there. I’m fine if I actually get notified and have time to make sure I’m there or reschedule. Today just actually works fine for me so I complained but will let it happen.
For a solid 5 seconds I thought I was looking at some pretty cool wall art in front of some kind of futuristic coffin. Then I read what you wrote and noticed the cupboard handles.
This is the greatest YouTube video I’ve seen in quite some time. Fascinating, inspiring, funny… this Bobby Fingers guy might be one of the most interesting people in the world: Jeff Bezos Rowing Boat
I might have to go and watch some of his older videos.
Oh fun story update: the real estate agent didn’t even show up. Haven’t heard from him or the guy I called who said he’d get the guy to give me a call with an idea of what time he’d be here. Good job, MICM!
Just scootered by that Karizma restaurant on New Quay which is owned by some underworld boss and has been torched twice in 3 days. Cop van was there and a camera crew, taped off as shown in the photo in the article about it.
Sitting at a winery out in Myrniong sipping a CC & Dry listening to some old bloke singing with his acoustic guitar on this sunny Sunday. It’s very much not crowded at all, it’s pretty quiet actually. This is comfortable as fuuuuck. Let’s cull like 65% of the population so we can have nice things like this all over the place!
Edit: look out he’s got his harmonica out! This just got excellent.
Catching up with another friend today. She’s coming over for the day and night then we’re going to a Sunday market. Hadn’t spoken from April until 2.5 hours ago but now we’ve got whole weekend plans. Should be nice.
I mourn for my younger self that I only discovered how good oat clusters & yoghurt is in my late 30s. It’s way better than any of the kids milky cereals.
Just ordered a dashcam for the car. I promised myself I would, so I have. I have this affliction where I have to buy the best of the best when it comes to things like this when in reality the 2nd or 3rd best would absolutely do what I need, so I end up overspending. The worst part is knowing that I’m doing it but not being able to stop myself. $500 gone and I’ll still need to pay someone to professionally do the hardwire installation. Just need to keep telling myself it’s a good investment even though I’ve successfully driven for 25 years without needing one.
Also my friend has rainchecked today/tonight. It’s real nice outside so I feel like I should probably go out and get some sun… but… Spider-Man 2…
