Neowin generally announce those that are being freed that week. They do not keep a running list though.

The massive inconsistencies in government were the most obvious failures of the last 14 years. The BoE has two mechanisms to play with - interest rates and Quantitative easing. These are mechanisms that take months to gauge the outcome from. It is impossible to apply long term solutions with such a catastrophic approach to governing.

Car manufacturers do not know what is happening in 4 weeks time when the new rules are being applied. Rules that are being negotiated at a pace now. Everything is kneejerk with this crew. There is no consideration for anything outside of the party in fights.

King’s estate to transfer £100m into ethical funds after bona vacantia revelations (www.theguardian.com)

King Charles’s estate has announced it is transferring more than £100m, including funds collected from dead people under the archaic system of bona vacantia, into ethical investment funds after an investigation by the Guardian....

Wasn’t even aware this went to the crown. A very good reason why we need transparency with incomes.

Syldon ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

And you find this ok because?

Syldon ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

As per article only in Lancashire and Cornwall.

The adjective infers that the area affected is significantly small.

Syldon ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

One is too many imo. They milk the country for enough money as it is.

Syldon ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Sorry? I don’t think I made any claims over area.

How has this affected the economy. He borrowed the money and has paid absolutely nothing back. We are in more debt now than we were after lock down.

Syldon OP ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Brown bailed the banks out. Cameron blamed the banking crisis for all his woes, when the reality was that it was mostly sorted under Labour.

Syldon OP ,

Like?

The figures are not showing any gains from the effects of Truss.

Syldon OP ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Brexit without a doubt, but this is the fault of the Tories. Covid hasn’t been paid for, we are still accumulating debt. The amount borrowed during Covid is still outstanding. Energy prices are back to normal in most of the EU. The UK allows energy companies to gouge the public, again the Tories.

Considering the financial hole Argentina is in ATM, this wouldn’t be the brightest move if he decided to copy Galtieri. Especially remembering Galtieri invaded in April and was replaced in June of the same year.

The race to the bottom for you is how I get to the top. See we all win at something.

Shithole is political gymnastics for not well funded. Yes, it is not well funded.

Syldon OP ,

Same party except in the UK.

Syldon OP ,

It is why they stopped an inquiry into election interference with the Brexit vote.

Energy prices are forever, Tax is only until after the GE.

First thing I thought.

Syldon OP ,

Yep. I hope he never sells a product in the UK again.

Syldon OP ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

I don’t think there are any cases of exploitation from Dyson. As much as I think he is a shithouse for what he did over Brexit, this claim has nothing to back it up AFAIK.

Syldon ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

I really do not understand why he tried to push a 3 line whip. Even Sunak cannot force the hand of Israel. The UK’s standing in the world is incredibly weak currently. Starmer had his own opinion, he should let other MPs have their own opinion also on such a divisive topic. At the end of the day the vote will achieve absolutely nothing except an outlook appearance.

Syldon ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Where is the UK in a good position in the world. The US don’t want to talk to us, Biden hates Brits. The EU are at the furthest point away they can be. Who exactly do we have strong ties with?

Syldon ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

“Islamophobic hatred” is a very vague statement. The wording would be very pertinent to the strength of the argument.

Syldon ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Precisely this.

Syldon ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

You like to throw crappy replies, but don’t actually add to a conversation. Is there something wrong with you?

Syldon ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Are you trying to say she didn’t receive islamophobic hatred? Based on what?

No I am saying the statement is very broad. Islamophobic covers from “I don’t like my MP being a Muslim” to “I am going to murder all your family based on your religion”. Both are illegal and wrong. Except the first will get you a slap on the wrist, and the second could easily lead to a prison sentence. Context matters.

Syldon ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

As I said context matters. One muppet being racist will garner little attention. Stick a bit of Racism in a person like, I dunno, Netanyahu and the whole world takes notice. They are not the same.

Syldon ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Doesn’t change the fact they murdered people deliberately.

Those civilians would not have died if Hamas had not attacked civilian areas. The whole reason there were any casualties is because Hamas attacked.

Scottish minister blames sons watching football for £11,000 iPad roaming bill (www.theguardian.com)

Michael Matheson, Scotland’s embattled health secretary, has apologised “unreservedly” after admitting he failed to properly disclose that his sons had largely run up an £11,000 iPad bill which he had initially charged in full to taxpayers....

Syldon ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Douglas Ross abstained when it came to voting for a suspension for Owen Paterson who was caught making money with lobbying. It seems he is more party than standards.

As for Matheson, the devil is in the detail in what he knew about the charge before he sent it to an expenses charge.

How did the son get access to a government device?

Did he know the amount of the roaming charge when he sent the bill to his expenses account?

If he gave access to someone for a device that holds GDPR sensitive information or he realised how much he had been charged, then he has no option to resign. I could easily see his son sneaking his password or him handing the bill in without looking at it.

Syldon ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Fair game (pun not intended). He has been stupid and should go just for that.

Syldon OP ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

The UK is more like Russia now than it ever has been in the past. We have active voter suppression, gerrymandering, a government that now control the electoral commission, protest rights removed, and many many more.

The class system is not just about who land anymore. It is about who holds the most controlling influence. Murdoch being a case in point. This is something that is prevalent across the world. I agree that the old land owners should be taxed with respect to inheritance in line with everyone else. We most definitely do not need a king.

Syldon OP ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

Sunak is listening to them. This is why Hunt is proposing to give tax cuts to the well off in the next budget. We seriously could be looking at yet another UK meltdown before we can remove this lot.

Syldon OP ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

They have changed the picture from white fivers mate.

Syldon OP ,
@Syldon@feddit.uk avatar

So that people remember they are morons when it comes to a general election. Complacency will allow these thieving scumbags to come straight back into office.

Syldon OP ,

You cannot have trickle down economics without having a bunch of paupers to drip money to.

Syldon ,

I am actually all for this being offered on the NHS as a voluntary option. Obviously making it a condition of benefits is just batshit crazy. It is sadly what we expect from the Tories these days. However for those with real issues and a desire to solve them then maybe this can help. There are side effects to using the drugs. People should always understand the risks. You never something for nothing in this life.

independent.co.uk/…/ozempic-wegovy-side-effects-s…

They found those using weight loss jabs were 9.09 times more likely to suffer inflammation of the pancreas, which can, in some cases require surgery

They were also 4.22 times more likely to develop a bowel obstruction and were at a 3.67 higher risk of gastroparesis, or “stomach paralysis”, which limits the passage of food from the stomach to the small intestine.

First author Mohit Sodhi, a graduate of UBC’s experimental medicine programme and fourth year UBC medical student, said: “Given the wide use of these drugs, these adverse events, although rare, must be considered by patients thinking about using them for weight loss.

“People who are otherwise healthy may be less willing to accept these potentially serious adverse events.”
